Behind the Jewelry: Sunburst Pendant Necklace
Welcome to the first blog post of our new series called “Behind the Jewelry”! This new series will bring you guys along on how I choose the pieces we add to our collections and why I chose them. I think that’ll add a lot more meaning to each piece - seeing exactly how they come into fruition! This year, I wanted to show you a different aspect of Simple & Dainty that you haven’t seen before!
For our first piece, I want to go a little deeper into how we created our Sunburst Pendant Necklace. I'm so excited about this necklace because I've been so eager to add a longer pendant necklace to our collection! We don’t have too many longer pendant necklaces, and I wanted to make one that’s timeless - one that everyone of all ages can wear, one that you can wear with every outfit, and one that will give you that little oomph! of confidence.
I’m a HUGE fan of the ribbed pattern, so I knew this necklace had to have a ribbed sunburst design. This piece features a gold vermeil charm paired with a gold filled chain, giving you a beautiful balance of rich gold color and everyday durability. A big part of Simple & Dainty is creating pieces that are both affordable and made with top-tier materials. This combo is perfect for daily wear, waterproof, and safe for sensitive skin!
It took me a few months of research to find the right partner to bring this piece to life, and it was worth every second. I played around with different sizes and shapes—circle, square, rectangle, big or small—before landing on the final design. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I hope you love it too!
The Sunburst Pendant Necklace is the perfect piece that goes with every single outfit. I made it 18”-20” so you can wear it with v-necks, scoop necks, and sweaters - and it’s big enough to stand out even on a chunky knit sweater! It has a timeless look that people of all ages appreciate. I gifted one to my mom and she loved it as much as I did, which is rare! 😂 It can easily be worn on its own since it’s so textured, or you can also layer it with any of your other favorites. This is the perfect necklace for literally everything! I’ve been wearing my necklace every single day for over 4 months now, and it is still as shiny as it was in the beginning.
