How to Measure Your Ring Size
Just like with shoes and clothes, it’s important to know what ring size fits you, especially because there is a different size for every finger. Luckily, finding your ring size is easy – and we make it even easier! Read on for some simple ways to measure your finger to find the perfect fit.
Finding Your Ring Size
1 - Free Ring Sizer
We have a simple and free way for you to find your ring size! Our ring sizer wraps around your finger for easy measurement. For the most accurate reading, place the sizer in the middle of the bottom segment of your finger. Feed the end of the sizer through the loop, just like a zip tie. Whatever number is indicated by the arrow is your ring size! Be sure not to pull it too tight. The best part is that this sizer is free with any jewelry order! You can also order it by itself and just pay shipping!
FREE RING SIZERYou can also use our printable ring sizer to find your measurements. Simply print the guide at 100% scale on standard letter paper and follow the instructions to prepare it for use! It works the same way as our ring sizer. Also included in this guide is a chart that allows you to measure an existing ring to determine its size. Download the ring size guide to get started.
2 - Diameter Measurement
For this ring sizing technique, all that you’ll need is a ruler or other measuring device and one of your rings. Measure the diameter of the interior of the ring in millimeters, then use this chart to find the correlating ring size.

Another great way to measure your ring size at home is to simply measure a piece of paper or piece of string! Just follow these easy steps:
- Cut out a thin strip of paper that’s about 1/2” thick and 3” long. If using string, also snip to about 3 inches.
- Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger. Ensure that it fits snugly, but not too tight, as you will need space to slip the ring over your knuckle when you take it on or off.
- Mark the point where the paper or string completes the circle and remove from your finger.
- Lay the paper or string flat and measure the distance from the end of the paper to your mark using a tape measure or ruler.
- Take the measurement you found and use our conversion chart to find the correlating ring size.

4 - Ring Size Considerations
Oftentimes, ring size refers to the ring finger measurement because that’s where an engagement ring sits. But we know rings can be worn on every finger! Your fingers will all have different ring sizes. Typically, the thumb will have the largest size, decreasing as you move out to the pinky. You can use our guides to find the size of rings that would fit all of your fingers.
Another point to keep in mind is that there are factors that can cause your ring size to fluctuate! Things like hot temperatures, alcohol, or lots of salt can cause slight swelling in your hands and make your rings fit more snugly. Therefore, for the sake of comfort, we recommend always rounding up if you’re between sizes. And don’t try to find your ring size after wine night!
Additionally, your knuckles will usually be slightly larger than the part of your finger where the ring sits, so you will need space to slide the ring on and off. If you have extra bony knuckles, take your ring size measurement a bit closer to the knuckle rather than in the middle of the finger segment for optimal fit.
